Have to catch up on my running now that my mom has left for India. So when Veera is running 10K today in Kauveri Marathon in Bangalore, I thought of checking the ski hill at Afton Alps, some 15 miles from Woodbury, my city. I would no doubtedly say that my venue gets more brownie points :p. A carpet of green grass... surrounded by wooded hills... and totally mine ... as it was 7:30 pm on a Saturday and not a soul to be seen around... though its bang in the middle of a State Park.
I couldnt resist to run barefoot on the damp grass after one run ... one of the most sensuous feelings...
I read this book by Christopher Mc Dougall -" Born to run" recently. Came across a paragraph which stated that the senstivity in our soles is just the same as that of our lips. Well my soles are pretty rough and hard ... but still today as I ran on grass... it was as if I could feel every single blade of the million of grass shoots. And then there was a patch in which they had cleared up the grass the way they do on golf course... it was sheer ecstasy to walk on it!!
